Context
Franklin Templeton Investments is one of the world’s largest asset management firms for institutional, retail, and high-net-worth clients. As the Digital Design Manager, I was responsible for design team management, creative direction, and project management for the visual and interaction design of all digital design initiatives, including 50+ global websites, numerous landing pages, and mobile/iPad applications.

Contributions
– Deep involvement with Teamsite/Livesite component-based CMS system, adding new capabilities and improving productivity and extensibility within standard templates.
– Supervised and inspired a globally-dispersed team of 4 to 6 designers, reviewed and critiqued design work, provided mentoring and professional growth, one-on-ones, weekly team meetings, annual performance reviews, and team realignment, hiring, and on-boarding
– Overhauled and clarified team workload and resources, optimized team efficiency and productivity
– Collaborated with business and web analysts, UX architects, project managers, developers, writers, creative services and advertising managers, web group managers, and senior executives
– Successfully arbitrated conflict resolution for complex inter-departmental issues
– Created a comprehensive job and team tracking system across multiple roles
– Created design processes and procedures such as service level agreements, review procedures, project digital asset spreadsheets, project and production workflows, and team allocation spreadsheets
– Developed framework for web, tablet, and mobile phone style guidelines.
